This is a type of transaction that happens quite a bit at pawn shops. You bring in your old computer to sell and get a “new” one. Whether you want a different type or a newer model, this is the way to go. This works with jewelry too. Bring in your old broken jewelry items (whether gold, platinum or silver) and trade towards something else that will refresh your jewelry wardrobe. You can do apply this same system to anything you see. Your small TV for a bigger one, your push lawn mower for a riding one, your Michael Kors handbag for a Louis Vuitton, your rifle for a revolver handgun and so on. What do you want to “trade up”?

Trade

Recently I saw a photo of a designer handbag on our Instagram. It was a Louis Vuitton cross body clutch purse that had me drooling. Later that evening I started to go through my jewelry box and my own bag collection to see what I could trade in to get that fabulous bag from earlier. I had a few pairs of gold earrings that I never wear, a Brahmin bag with the tags still on it that was a birthday gift that just isn’t my style and my hubby’s designer watch that we upgraded many months ago. I figured I would take all the items in and see what we could make happen. You would be surprised at how much you get for your “trade ins”. Just bring it all in a see what kind of sweet deal we can work up for you on any item in the store! This really is the trick of the trade! ;o)

Layaway

You see the item you’ve been waiting for in our showroom. You’ve been hunting for ages for this computer, handgun, watch, game system etc and you just know that if you wait until next payday that beauty will NOT be there. What should you do? Layaway!!! We will hold your item for you with a small deposit and you can either pay on it over time or just pay off the whole total when you have the fund available. We are flexible and will work with you! Also, there is NO fee with our layaway plan. No hidden fees or interest. It’s a win win situation!

Will a pawn shop try and take advantage of me?

I can not speak for every pawn shop out there but I can tell you that Oaks Pawn is different. Not only do we want your business and return business, we want to be your one stop shop. We will do anything and everything in our power to make sure you not only get the best deal but want to tell everyone about your amazing experience. Is buying the same as “pawning”?

When you sell your item, you wish to part with it. When you pawn an item,  you are getting a loan. Whether that item is a piece of jewelry, electronic, musical instrument or power tool, your item is held as collateral and you can get it back once your loan is paid in full. Easy and efficient! You bring in your item, get cash, pay it back, get your item back, and you can do it as often as needed.

Will I get the same amount of money?

Yes, you can get the same amount. You will not get more money for selling versus pawning your item. However, we encourage you to only get a loan for the amount you need at the time so that your payback amount (and interest charges) is not as high. If your item is worth over $1,000 but you only need $100, just get what you need.

Do I need good credit?

Not at all! You pay the same interest rate across the board no matter if you have rocky credit, no credit, or perfect credit. Your item’s value carries the weight of the loan and not your credit.

What do I need to complete the transaction?

We just need your government issued ID and your thumbprint to complete the pawn/loan and you are good to go. The process is quick and easy and you walk away with the cash you need!

 What if I can’t pay back my loan?

Not to worry, we have options for you. You can arrange to make an extension payment which is only the interest charges or you can choose to forgo the payback all together and not return to retrieve your item. We will work with you to matter your circumstance.

What if I forget to pay?

We understand that life is so busy and all of us have tons going on, that it why we will send a text reminder for you to know when your pawn is coming due.

What other questions do you have that we can answer for you?

Our High Springs store in located at 18522 US-441 Suit 20 in historic High Springs, Florida. It is open from Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 5:30pm. In this unique location of Oaks Pawn you will find an eclectic mix of unique jewelry, power tools, handguns, rifles, crossbows, knives, assorted ammunition, electronics, and more! What type of handguns do you offer?

Currently High Springs has a mix of new and preowned handguns, even a few antique ones dating back to the 1900s!

What is the process if I want to buy a handgun or rifle?

First off, you must have your state issued ID. If you do not hold a concealed weapons permit, there is a mandatory 5 day wait before you can pick up your gun. If you have your concealed weapons permit, no wait is required. You must be 21 years old too.

What if I want to pawn or get a loan on my gun?

You will need to still have your state issued ID with you. We will hold the gun in our safe keeping until you return to pay off your loan. There will also be a background check down at the time of pick up. The amount loaned on the gun is dependent on many factors so the best thing to do is to bring it by the shop for a free estimate.

Do you have any other weapons at this location?

Every time you come in, there will be something new to see! But as of right now, there are many handguns, rifles, crossbows, swords, and knives (including pocket knives that make excellent gifts for Father’s Day!)
